Activités de recherche

Paola Pellegrini est experte en planification et gestion opérationnel du transport ferroviaire. Elle a travaillé dans le domaine de l'intelligence artificielle et de l'optimisation mathématique dans le contexte du transport ferroviaire. Paola Pellegrini a été chef de file de WP dans deux projets européens (Capacity4rail et OptiYard) et elle a participé à d'autres projets nationaux et européens (par exemple, SigiFRET, On-time). Son domaine de recherche actuel couvre le développement d'approches d'optimisation pour l’exploitation efficace de la capacité des infrastructures ferroviaires, visant à l'automatisation des processus au niveau tactique et opérationnel. Elle a notamment conçu et développé un algorithme de pointe pour le problème de gestion centralisée du trafic ferroviaire en temps réel nommé RECIFE-MILP.
Paola Pellegrini est membre du bureau de l'association International Association of Railway Operations Research (IAROR). Elle est membre du comité de rédaction du Journal of Advanced Transportation et de l'IET Intelligent Transport Systems.

Research activity

Paola Pellegrini is an expert in railway planning and operational management. She has been working in the field of artificial intelligence and mathematical optimization in the railway transportation context. Paola Pellegrini has been WP leader in two successful European projects (Capacity4rail and OptiYard) and has participated to a number of other national and European projects (e.g., SigiFRET, On-time). Her current research field covers the development of optimization approaches to effectively exploit railway infrastructure capacity, aiming to the automation of the processes at both the tactical and the operational level. In particular, she has designed and developed a state-of-the-art algorithm for the centralized real-time railway traffic management problem named RECIFE-MILP.
Paola Pellegrini is member of the Board of the International Association of Railway Operations Research (IAROR). She is member of the editorial board of Journal of Advanced Transportation and IET Intelligent Transport Systems.
