Martin KONING
Research Director in Transport Economics
CFR / AME - Département Aménagement, Mobilités, Environnement
SPLOTT - Systèmes Productifs, Logistique, Organisation des Transports et Travail
My work involves a mix of contract research and more spontaneous projects. I address a wide range of topics, all of which fall within the field of public economics applied to transportation. For example, I am interested in quantifying and regulating the various environmental impacts of freight transport, whether in urban or interurban settings.
In addition to my academic work, I serve as an expert for public and private entities, both national and international. In particular, I am a member of the DGITM’s Methodological and Scientific Committee on the socioeconomic evaluation framework for transportation policies.
Having defended my HDR at Lyon 2 University in 2020, I supervise doctoral theses at SPLOTT, a laboratory where I lead the internal seminar. Finally, I co-organize the EPOP seminar (with Laurent Carnis and Pascal Gastineau), I serve as associate editor of the Cahiers Scientifiques du Transport / Scientific Papers in Transportation, and I am secretary of the (young) French Association of Transport Economics.
