Mai Lan Nguyen obtained a Ph.D. in 2009 in "Fatigue and fracture of bituminous mixtures" at ENTPE/University of Lyon. After his PhD, he did a post Ph.D. at the accelerated pavement testing facility of Gustave Eiffel University in the framework of a national research project on the development of Fiber-reinforced Roller-Compacted Concrete mixed with reclaimed asphalt pavement for heavy traffic pavements. Then he worked as a scientific collaborator at EPFL in Lausanne where he was responsible for the construction and experimentation of a full scale test on a new concept of road and bridge transition.

Since 2012, Mai-Lan is a researcher at Gustave Eiffel University. His works deal mainly with:

  • Experimental investigation and modelling of transport materials and infrastructures, including classics and innovatives
  • Experimentation and design of full-scale and actual transport infrastructures
  • Modelling of damage phenomena of transport infrastructures
