Activités de recherche

Juliette Marais est ingénieur diplômée de l'ISEN Lille (1998) et titulaire d'une thèse de doctorat de l'Université de Lille depuis 2002. Elle a reçu l'habilitation à diriger des recherches de l'université de Lille en novembre 2017.

Depuis 2002, elle est chargée de recherche, à l'INRETS puis IFSTTAR; aujourd'hui Directrice de recherche à l'Université Gustave Eiffel . Ses recherches portent sur les performances des systèmes de localisation par satellites (GNSS), leur analyse et leur amélioration dans les environnements de réception transports, et en particulier dans le ferroviaire. Elle est actuellement impliquée dans deux axes de recherches : le contrôle de l'intégrité de la localisation pour les applications de transport terrestre et la caractérisation des conditions de propagation des signaux GNSS dans les environnements ferroviaires.

Principaux projets en cours

Actuellement partenaire des projets européens X2Rail5 du programme Shift2Rail  et H2020 RAILGAP démarré en 2021 autour de l'usage des GNSS dans le rail.
Elle pilote le projet ANR LOCSP qui vise le développement de Solutions de LOCalisation Sûre et Précise pour les véhicules autonomes circulant en milieu contraint – route / rail (2020-2024).

Research activity

Juliette Marais received the engineering degree from ISEN and a Ph.D. degree in electronics from University of Lille, France, in 1998 and 2002 respectively. She received the "Habilitation à diriger des recherces" in 2017, that is a french accreditation to supervise research). Since 2002, she has been a Researcher with INRETS, IFSTTAR and now University Gustave Eiffel.

She is currently involved in GNSS performance analyses and enhancement in land transport environments and in particular in rail applications. Since 2000, she has been participating with the European Railway-Related Projects, such as the recent STARS and ERSAT GGC.

She is involved on two main research projects: integrity monitoring for land transport applications and GNSS propagation characterization in railway environments. Her research interests principally include propagation phenomena, positioning and pseudorange error modeling, filtering technics, and simulation. 

On-going projects

  • Participation to X2R2 and Gate4Rail projects of the Shift2Rail program dealing with GNSS introduction in rail and simulation testbed development.
  • Lead of the french ANR LOCSP project focusing on the development of fail safe localisation solutions for road and rail applications (2020-2024)
