Research field:
Characterisation and integration of Fuel Cell (FC) generators and hydrogen (H2) technologies for sustainable transport systems, territories and cities.
Keywords:
Fuel cell systems, hydrogen-based systems, electrical engineering.
Topics and research activities:
- Characterization and experimental analysis of FC and H2 technologies operated in use conditions.
- Lifetime / durability, reliability, fault modes and diagnostic methods.
- Impact of power electronics on FC performance.
- Hybridization of FC systems.
- Design of experiment modeling, behavioral and physical modeling.
- Research supervision and teaching.
In recent years, my work has primarily focused on developing innovative tools for the characterisation and diagnosis of fuel cell generators (hydrogen-fed PEMFCs). These tools combine advanced instrumentation, signal analysis techniques, and data processing methods to improve our understanding of physical phenomena and facilitate their integration into real-world applications, such as vehicles and micro-CHP systems.
Ongoing research also investigates the mechanical and electrical coupling within PEMFC assemblies. This includes ex-situ and in-situ experiments, along with modelling efforts, conducted in collaboration with UTBM in Belfort/Sevenans and Université Savoie Mont Blanc, as part of PhD projects by Khadidja Bouziane, El Mahdi Khetabi, and Luca Marcelli, at Université Paris-Saclay.
Another area of my research focuses on the electrical and energy modelling of fuel cells, particularly when hybridised and interfaced with other energy storage and conversion devices, such as batteries, supercapacitors, and hydride tanks.
