Dr Federico NALDINI has been working as a postdoctoral researcher in Computer Science at the Université Gustave Eiffel (Lille Campus- ESTAS laboratory) since November 2021. His primary focus lies in the real-time Rail Traffic Management Problem (rtRTMP): algorithms for train re-routing and re-scheduling to cope with conflicts caused by traffic disturbances, in real-time. This line of research concerns the development of automatic railway Traffic Management Systems (TMS) to maximize the utility of stakeholders, such as passengers, freight operators, infrastructure managers, rail undertakings, the environment, etc.

Dr Federico NALDINI obtained his PhD in Operations Research from the Department of Electrical, Electronic, and Information Engineering 'G. Marconi' (DEI) at the University of Bologna - Alma Mater Studiorum. ALSTOM funded the PhD and partnered in defining the main research project.
