Je suis un chercheur en biomécanique des chocs dans au LBMC, laboratoire commun de l'université Gustave et de l'Université Lyon 1. 

Je travaille principalement sur l’étude de la réponse humaine au choc pour applications en sécurité (routière en particulier). Ceci inclut des travaux sur la caractérisation expérimentale de la réponse au choc et sur des modèles numériques pour représenter l’homme dans des essais ou des simulations. 

Depuis plus de 20 ans, j'ai travaillé sur diverses problématiques telles que la réponse et les blessures abdominales, la colonne lombaire, les occupants obèses, les sièges inclinés, les piétons, les membres inférieurs, le thorax, la personnalisation du modèle, le mannequin et l'instrumentation, etc.

J'ai contribué (et je continue à contribuer) à des modèles et outils utilisés au delà du milieu académique. En particulier, je suis responsable de la région abdominale pour le GHBMC (consortium mondial de constructeurs automobiles) et j'ai contribué au modèle enfant PIPER et aux outils open source PIPER (j'ai coordonnée le projet européen qui leur a donné naissance et je m'occupe du projet open source qui lui fait suite.

 I am a researcher in impact biomechanics at the LBMC, a joint laboratory of the University Eiffel and the University Lyon 1.

I mainly work on the study of the human response to impact for safety applications (road in particular). This includes work on the experimental characterization of the response to impact and on numerical models to represent humans in tests or simulations.

For over 20 years, I have worked on various issues including abdominal response and injuries, lumbar spine, obese occupants, reclined seating, pedestrians, lower extremities, thorax, model personalization, dummy and instrumentation, etc.

I have contributed (and continue to contribute) to models and tools used beyond academia. In particular, I am responsible for the abdominal region for the GHBMC (global automobile manufacturers consortium) and I contributed to the PIPER child model and to the PIPER open source tools (I coordinated the European project which created them and I am in charge of the open source project that followed).
