Civil Engineer from National University of Colombia, M.Sc. and D.Sc in civil engineering from COPPE, Federal University of Rio de Janeiro. Professional experience in Geotechnical Engineering participating in projects related to hydroelectric, oil & gas and road infrastructure. Research experience in numerical modelling of embankments on soft soils and dynamic centrifuge testing.


Research and professional interests: numerical and physical modelling of problems related to embankments on very soft soils, slope stability, retaining structures, use of geosynthetics, ground improvement techniques, site response analysis, geotechnical earthquake engineering and offshore geotechnical engineering.
